Todd Dugas has over 28 years of professional experience in the behavioral health field, first receiving his licensure as an addictions counselor in 1992, working as a front-line therapist for 8 years, and then completing his MSSW in Administration and Planning in 1998 before working in a senior clinical and executive director capacity for the past 20 years.

Todd has the unique ability to impact an organization at all levels of operations. He is known for his leadership acumen in creating environments and cultures that focus on fulfilling an organization’s mission, vision and values.

Todd’s 21 years of leadership experience in behavioral health organizations include initial conceptualization, implementation, and maintenance phases of development and growth, directing the day-to-day operations, managing and developing staff, and assuring high quality care and compliance within Joint Commission and HHSC regulatory standards.

Todd takes a solution-focused and asset-based approach when leading staff, engaging and serving clients, and believes that everyone has inherent capacity to grow and improve their mental wellness.

Todd maintains a healthy work-life balance by spending time with his wife, his son, his large family, and cycling.

Scott graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor’s in Kinesiology and minor in communications. Scott has over 18 years of business development experience in the health, wellness, and fitness space. He has successfully grown and sold multiple companies from the ground up. Scott is a certified personal trainer and martial arts enthusiast who also enjoys giving back to others and has been working with adolescents for over 15 years. Scott enjoys always growing both personally and professionally and spending time with his wife and 5-year-old twins.

Loren lives just outside of Austin with her husband Captain Jason Kwas of the Houston Fire Department, daughter Savannah, and stepdaughter, Makenzie. Loren is a 2000 graduate of the University of Texas and has worked in outreach in the addiction and mental health treatment field for 18 years. She began her behavioral health career working for two behavioral health hospitals in the Chicagoland area. Loren then moved back home to Austin, Texas in the summer of 2008 and represented an addictions treatment center on a national level for over 8 years. Loren also has represented two licensed healthcare professional treatment programs, and two national treatment center networks. Loren is a mental health and OCD treatment advocate and celebrates 6 years of being in love addiction recovery. In 2019, Loren completed Ken Seeley and Eric McLaughlin’s CCMI trainings and is currently a Certified Case Manager and Interventionist-i. Loren enjoys being with her family, camping near Garner State Park in Neal’s Lodges, boating on Lake Travis, and watching movies and barbecuing.

Jeff was born on the bayous of Southwest Louisiana. He is a father of two, a daughter, 34, and a son, 26, and grandfather to two little boys, Judah, 5 and Roman, 2. Jeff has worked in this industry for 32 years and has had the privilege to make a difference in hundreds of lives, as a director in 3 different residential facilities, helping many children overcome the trauma and pain in their lives due to abuse and neglect. He aims to create a safe, nurturing environment for the children served by Paradigm.

Jeff believes that client-centered therapy focuses on establishing a warm, safe environment and providing genuine empathy, while building a relationship so that the client feels safe and has a sense of trust. Jeff believes we can reach and help each child overcome any obstacle in their lives by getting to the root of the issues and forming new beginnings with their family. Jeff enjoys coaching select baseball, developing players and creating a team mentality while also spending time with family and enjoying those precious moments with his grandkids.

Jennifer Schaefer, M.D.

Dr. Schaefer is double board certified in General Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Schaefer graduated from medical school at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. She completed both her general psychiatry residency and child and adolescent fellowship training at The University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School, where she served as chief resident.

Dr. Schaefer performs diagnostic clinical assessments for a number of psychiatric illnesses, including major depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, PTSD, anxiety disorders, substance use disorders, ADHD, and autism. Dr. Schaefer is trained in psychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, play therapy, and motivational interviewing.

Dr. Schaefer provides a compassionate, thoughtful and evidence-based approach to treatment in working with children, teenagers, and their families. She works to collaboratively target each patient’s treatment to their particular goals through a combination of medication management and individual and family therapy. Dr. Schaefer’s approach to treatment is to non-judgmentally help her patients to develop hope, discover meaning, and become empowered to recover.

A Native Texan, Coach Christina McDonald has been a full time Master Trainer since 2011. She graduated magna cum laude from St. Edward’s University here in Austin and also holds certifications in both sports performance and corrective exercise. Coach Christina’s training style focuses on improved mobility, performance, injury prevention, weight loss, muscle gain as well as building confidence and community. Coach Christina isn’t going to let your teen off easy, but her main focus is always to have fun, make measured progress towards your teen’s personal goals and help them build healthy habits that will last a lifetime. In her free time, she authors fitness realated articles for the benefit of law enforcement in S.W.A.T. Magazine.

Migdoel “Dio” Miranda, B.S.

A former pro baseball player who has been training and coaching speakers, amateur and professional athletes, celebrities and ordinary people since 2000, Dio Miranda teaches how to use simple daily strategies to live a life of exceptional health and vitality. 

​A native of Carolina, Puerto Rico, Dio was recruited by University of Memphis Lambuth in Jackson, Tennessee to play college baseball, then went on to play professional baseball in the Independent League and Winter League in Puerto Rico so he was quite familiar with the training necessary for athletes at a high level. While in college, Dio had the great experience of teaching disabled students as part of his degree program. He graduated college in his second language with B.S. degrees in both Physical Education and Special Education. Dio found his ultimate dream somewhere between these two extreme levels of functioning as he was more and more intrigued by what helps the ordinary person achieve incredible health.

Dio also graduated from the Florida College of Natural Health as a Certified Massage Therapist. Afterwards, he continued practicing as a strength coach in the Miami area and then further combined his interest in the spiritual and emotional aspects of the mind and body, and how they affect physical performance by attending the prestigious CHEK Institute where he studied (C)orrective (H)olistic (E)xercise (K)inesiology. So far, Dio has achieved Certifications of Holistic and Lifestyle Coach II, Level III Fitness Trainer, and a High-Performance Exercise Kinesiologist.  In 2011, Dio was awarded international recognition as a CHEK Practitioner of The Year nominee. Dio also teaches the ELDOA system.

Dio’s approach to fitness is to emphasize healthier living, both emotionally and physically, in order to achieve greater vitality so clients can live their lives to the fullest. Dio is married to his wife Nicole for 16 years and is a dad to Kai (14) and Daughter Kamila (11).
