SUMMARY:Alumni Parents Support Group
DESCRIPTION:About this support group:\nThis group will expand on the Parent Effectiveness Training skills introduced during your child’s time at Paradigm and serve as a support group for parents of Paradigm Alumni. Each session will include psychoeducation\, discussion\, and plenty of time for Q & A as it pertains to the presented topic and each participant’s unique situation. \nWhy attend:\nParticipants will come away with tools to support their current situation\, connection with other parents\, and opportunities to learn from the experiences of other parents as they navigate the transition from residential treatment to home.   Much of the support post-residential treatment is geared toward the child and ensuring their continued progress in their mental health. This group is focused on providing similar support for parents including continued learning\, review of skills\, and a space to openly and honestly discuss the ups and downs of supporting a child struggling with mental health. \nWhen:\nAlumni Parent Groups will be held in the 4th Thursday of each month. She Is a trail blazer in the realm of youth development and focuses on assisting our youth with staying on track with their treatment goals. Siana has worked with the youth for over a decade leading and facilitating personal development groups and workshops. Some of the initiatives she’s developed are our “Life Skills Group” to support our alumni in integrating what they’ve learned in our residential program post treatment\, and “SHIFT” our diversity & inclusion program that encourages cultural competency in the field of mental health while providing resources for our staff\, clients\, and the community. Siana holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts from HBCU-Virginia State University and is a graduate of MITT-Mastery in Transformational Training. She dedicates her life to impacting as many lives as she can by being of service\, encouraging transformation\, and inspiring breakthroughs.
