Jason Newman, BA, MA, LMFT #100091


    As a strong advocate for LGBTQ and justice-involved youth, Jason has a passion for social justice and helping teens and at-risk youth to reach their goals. He is a Licensed Marriage and Family therapist with skills in crisis intervention and several years of experience facilitating groups. At Napa County Juvenile Hall, he created the first mindfulness group where he was a forensic mental health counselor and transitional-age youth case manager. He has also worked as a social worker and most recently was a private practice therapist and supervisor. Jason believes in using a strength-based approach to therapy as well as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and was trained at Linehan Institute and Psychteck. His interests include art therapy, narrative therapy, nature therapy, and mindfulness. Jason earned his Bachelor’s in Psychology from the University of California at Santa Cruz and a Master’s in Counseling Psychology from the University of San Francisco. He is a nature enthusiast who likes biking, hiking, and camping.
