Joshua Welz graduated from Arizona State University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition followed by a Master of Education, further academic highlights include completion of theological studies through Phoenix Seminary where he received a Master of Divinity. Currently, Joshua is enrolled at Antioch University completing his Master of Arts in Psychology to become a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Within this academic lineage, Joshua also works as a certified Kripalu yoga instructor as well as in the field of Somatic Experiencing. This multidisciplinary and multifaceted dynamic background has created an intelligent and intuitive approach to working alongside individuals from a variety of backgrounds.
Joshua has worked with at risk youth extensively and is intimately familiar with trauma and its relationship to the development of the person. Joshua has used his unique background as a way to bridge the gap between the mind and body. Further, with an academic appreciation that person centered care involves the mind, body, and emotions. Teaching fuels Joshua’s passion to enrich the lives of others through mindful approaches to education and the well-being of those whom he works alongside. In his free time Joshua stays active through running, cycling, swimming, paddle boarding, or yoga. Joshua’s deepest connections are found through nature and poetry.
