SHIFT is a FREE program developed by Paradigm Treatment that actively works to combat racism and prejudice in clinical and academic setting while increasing diversity, inclusion, and cultural competence.
WHO: Facilitated by Siana Orun-Walker, Director of Client Development & Initiatives and Kathryn Nunez, Lead Therapist, Paradigm Treatment
Meeting the dynamic needs of marginalized students and clients and cultivating for them a sense of personal empowerment and agency in academic, clinical and therapeutic settings can be challenging.
In honor of Black History Month Please Join Siana and Kathryn for an inspiring, informative conversation and process group in which we explore the significance of building sustainable communities and meaningful conversations within our institutions, and how this can help our beloved students and clients not only survive but THRIVE.
Kathryn and Siana will cover a range of related and deeply insightful topics such as, but not limited to:
- Building community and listening to the needs of community
- Empowering the voices of BIPOC Women in our field
- Utilizing storytelling to amplify marginalized Voices
- Honoring the Ancient indigenous healing practices of storytelling and Fireside conversation
This conversation will be followed by an engaging process-style group, and will empower you with valuable information, insights and support to supply your clients with confident, clear, and culturally sensitive, identity-affirming therapy!
You will benefit from this FREE program if…
- You work with clients, students or families who inhabit one or more marginalized identities
- You sometimes feel overwhelmed or at a loss when navigating difficult topics relating to identity, race, and culture
- You grapple with how to be a culturally competent clinician or therapist
