The Cornerstones of Our Treatment: Intensive Individual and Group Therapy

Our mental health residential treatment program for adults is short-term yet intensive, designed to address mental, emotional, and behavioral challenges. Our program includes four individual therapy sessions per week, multiple daily group therapy sessions, and offers a family therapy component when appropriate.

Beyond our structured therapeutic program, we offer experiential therapies, physical activities, and support with nutrition and, when appropriate, academic or professional needs.

Among the various psychotherapeutic methods we use, regular individual therapy sessions held four times a week are a cornerstone of our program. These consistent, one-on-one sessions with a therapist provide an intimate setting for clients to deeply process their traumas and personal issues.

This consistent therapeutic schedule helps our residents solidify the progress they make in other areas of our program. Through this approach, they gain crucial insights into their challenges and how these are being addressed and transformed within the supportive environment of our program.

Clients at Paradigm Treatment participate in regular group counseling sessions multiple times per day, which can be a profoundly impactful process for healing and growth. While all humans are social beings, the need for connection, recognition, and interpersonal development is especially heightened during challenging times in our lives.

The relief, strength, and courage our clients find in group therapy can emerge in just a few moments, yet the positive effects of these moments can last a lifetime.

At Paradigm Treatment, we recognize the profound connection between our clients and their families. Therefore, we integrate weekly individual family counseling into our therapeutic processes. While we treat the whole individual in every aspect of our residential treatment program, the familial context is fundamentally important. We assess family dynamics holistically, understanding that these dynamics can foster healing long after our program concludes.

We also support families by providing therapeutic guidance, resources, and support to equip our clients with the skills and tools they need as they transition back home. Our goal is to empower not just the client, but their entire support network for life beyond Paradigm.

We utilize a variety of evidence-based therapies to help our clients better understand themselves and the challenges they face. Our therapeutic program is designed not only to provide adults with insights into their issues but also to equip them with effective coping strategies and skills that will last a lifetime.

To achieve this, we employ a carefully tailored blend of trauma-informed and mindfulness-based therapies, including psychoeducation and Family Systems therapy. These modalities have been proven in numerous studies to create powerful, long-lasting changes across different age groups, and this holds true for teens and young adults as well.

Mental illnesses can affect individuals in diverse ways, and we all respond to treatment differently. As one of the leading residential facilities, we provide a wide array of therapeutic approaches, treating each individual with respect and a deep understanding of their unique needs.

At our adult treatment center in Idaho, clients undergo a medical evaluation during their initial assessment upon enrollment. This process helps us understand their physical functioning and overall health status.

Individuals facing emotional health challenges may be at a higher risk for developing physical health problems compared to their peers without such issues. The stress associated with mental health struggles can lead to various physical ailments.

Additionally, adults with specific medical conditions may require tailored care approaches. They might need to avoid certain medications that could exacerbate their symptoms or incorporate specific foods into their diets.

Our medical evaluation enables us to make informed decisions about the treatment process for our residents, setting them on a path to a healthier emotional life.

Our psychiatric evaluation process can take anywhere from several hours to several days. This thorough evaluation ensures we gain a clear understanding of our clients’ mental health challenges and how they interconnect.

During this stage, we identify any co-occurring disorders or additional symptoms and issues a young person may have. This evaluation forms the foundation for the entire mental health treatment process, enabling us to develop the most effective treatment plans and equip our clients with the tools and skills they need for a more fulfilling life.

Our psychological testing process ensures the most accurate diagnosis. This thorough testing helps eliminate the risk of misdiagnosis or overlooking deeply rooted issues.

Through this testing, we can identify the needs, desires, interests, and strengths of the young people in our care. This understanding allows us to develop the most effective treatment approaches for the teens in our program.

Treating mental health disorders such as depression, anxiety, and other issues requires a holistic approach that addresses the whole person. This includes encouraging positive changes in everyday life choices.

When appropriate, we conduct a nutritional evaluation as part of our initial intake process for several reasons. Firstly, it helps us stabilize mood disorders, emotional dysregulation, or other issues that may be related to food. Additionally, this evaluation educates clients on the importance of healthy eating habits for their emotional, physical, and mental well-being.
